Satellite Shoot-Down Video

SM-3 Launch.jpg The satellite was shot down using a sea-based Standard Missile 3 developed for regional and tactical missile defense, and was launched off the Aegis class cruiser USS Lake Erie. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration issued notices every 24 hours during the anticipated shoot-down window, warning aircraft and ships to steer clear of the projected shoot-down zone in the Pacific.
