Linux Kernel 2.6.23 is Out!

Linus has just released Linux 2.6.23. This version includes a brand new CFS process scheduler, the lguest ‘Linux-on-Linux’ paravirtualization hypervisor, KVM smp guest support, variable process argument length, a simpler read-ahead mechanism, XEN guest support, SELinux protection for exploiting null dereferences using mmap, XFS and ext4 improvements, splice improvements, SLUB is now the default slab allocator, support for multiqueue network devices, the ‘lumpy’ reclaim algorithm, a userspace driver framework, PPP over L2TP support, a new fallocate() syscall, the O_CLOEXEC file descriptor flag, lock statistics, and a multitude of new drivers and minor fixes.
